FAQ 4 – Payment and Prices
When do I pay you?
The sooner the better, from a list standpoint. The more paid people ahead of you, the longer it takes for me to get to your piece. I take the money up front before I start work, either the full price or partial.
Will you draw me something for free?
Everything comes for a price. However, every once in a while for a personal project, I may want volunteer characters. Please do not ask me. If needed, I will request volunteers when I am ready.
Can I buy you something in return for art instead of sending you the money?
Absolutely. But just don’t go and buy any old thing, because I’m very picky. I’ll let you know what items I’d like at the value of the artwork you’ll be getting.
I saw a few pieces on your site that I really like. Can I buy prints of them, or the originals if possible?
Originals are usually a no-no, because if I haven’t put it up for sale, it has sentimental value. Slip me a little extra $$ and I may redo an original colored pencil copy for you. As for black line or cg prints, possibly, under certain conditions. It can’t be someone else’s commission, and it can’t be any gift art, or art trades. Someone else already paid for their commissions, and as for the gift art, they weren’t drawn for money. I do sometimes auction off prints or originals on Furbuy.
What methods of payment do you accept?
-Paypal. Credit card payments are also accepted through this method. YOU are responsible for the paypal fees. There is an option to either send as a gift, which doesn’t charge either party, or pay the fee yourself. If you can’t find the option to do this, you are responsible for sending enough to cover the fee it will take from me. I prefer Paypal since it’s immediate and I can use my paypal debit card.
-Cash in the mail at your own risk (please use a very secure envelope. Bills only, obviously.)
-Money order.
-Personal check. Will have to wait for it to clear before the piece is started. Least preferred method.
-Moneygram (any CVS has this service, and I believe Walmart does as well)
Nothing gets done until the money is received and usable.
With any payment method, I require:
-A note telling me who the payment is from so I can connect the payment to previous communication. (In paypal, you can just put your Alias in the little text box)
-The total sum of the agreed upon price, plus the cost of shipping if applicable.
