What I do - Art

If you're interested in an art whore, you've come to the right place. First, a few questions you might ask. And this goes with any art pieces, commissions or non.

Who's the artist who will be drawing for you? Me, of course. First of all, why commission me? Well, we both get something out of it, of course. But you are actually helping me alot more than you think. Sure, I like money, and it helps me buy alot of stuff I need. But I really love taking commissions because it forces me to get better at drawing things I usually woudn't bother to draw, or think of on my own. Everyone who has commissioned me has unique characters and ideas that makes them interesting and fun to draw. Commissions for people who prefered to see male subjects are how I got better at drawing men.

What I do

What style/genre do you draw in?
I draw in a manga-ish furry style or just manga for human(oid)s. Check out my gallery if you haven't already to see some examples. Almost everything I've drawn since 2000 is up there. Sometimes I can pull off a more americanized style if I have to.
Will you change your artstyle to that of (insert artist name here) for me?
Nope. My style changes slighly on its own over time. If you don't like my base style, then please don't bother asking. I don't force myself to change my style for anyone. The reason commissioners buy art of their characters from different people is to see their character in different art styles. That is why I do trades, to see my characters done in other styles. If you wish to be comfortable working with me, you must not mind my style.
What are you comfortable drawing, and what won't you draw?
I will draw: furries (anthro), humans, and fantasy humanoid entities (elves, faeries, etc).
I will draw them doing: anything you want.
What is anything? Whatever your twisted mind can come up with, from cute little girls having a tea party (G) to characters getting screwed up the ass with cocks of doom (hardcore X). I do not object to blood and violence, sex, bondage, vore, macro/micro, pregnant, strapons, or any fetish you can think of, HOWEVER, there are a certain list of things that I won't draw at a normal price for personal reasons. Money is money after all. If someone really wanted to offer me a bajillion dollars to draw someone eating poop, who am I to pass that up? Questionable content. Things not completely in my comfort/enjoyment zone will be charged higher. These things are on the list below but not limited to only those. If you think something is questionable, and it is not on the list feel free to email me and ask.

If you want me to draw characters not belonging to you, you MUST GET PERMISSION to do this. Whether you get permission or not, I will still draw it for you, however, if you intend to post the image anywhere online where anybody can see it, I will not get in trouble for your irresponsibility if the characters creator finds out. These types of commissions are kept completely private so nobody gets in trouble. I win, you win, and nobody is the wiser. I keep my copy in a perfectly private place.

Things that I'm not very good at drawing include horses (and horse anthros, also including centaurs), reptiles, and non-morphic animals. I will still try my hardest if that is what you wish though.

Things I can't do for you: sprite art (ie, pixel characters).

The LIST of QUESTIONABLE SUBJECT MATTER!
Scat (poopoo)
watersports (peepee)
necrophilia (sex with the dead)
guro (mutilation)*
beastiality**
loli/shota (children in sexual situations)***

* There are enough artists on the internet that draw mutiliation and large objects shoved into the urethra. I really don't want anything to do with it unless you're willing to pay A LOT for it. This doesn't include fight scenes, and general blood and gore.
** Beastiality is a human having intercourse with a feral animal. This does not count for anthro/human sex.
*** Having known people who have been in trouble for possessing this sort of artwork, this is something you need to be careful with. Loli/shota is children in sexual situations with either other children, or adults. Where is the line between child and adult? If I think your character looks underage enough to bother me (I'm generally all right with puberty age), I'll let you know. And if they look TOO young, I won't do it at all. Tuff shit.
Do you need an age statement to sell adult themed work?
I had considered it at one time, but found it highly illogical. There would be no proving that the statement is true. Anyone can say they're over 18 on the internet and photoshopping an ID is not difficult. So no. I don't give a damn. If you know you aren't supposed to have said artwork and you get in trouble with your mommy for owning it, it's your own damned fault.
Will you do a trade with me?
Probably not, unless I really feel like it and have time. Someday I might open up monthly trade slots again if I feel I can do it.
Do you take requests?
No, don't have time. When I'm not drawing things for myself or doing commissions, I am writing and going to work. On top of that, I need time to eat, sleep, and other reccomended daily activites, plus I have some other side projects I'm doing. So no, no requests.
How many characters will you draw per picture?
One per page is the base price setup, however, I can draw up to three characters on a page comfortably. The most I've done for myself is thirteen, but the ubermost I'll do per page for a paying customer is five unless it's a large piece of paper. It's harder to proportionize multiple characters against each other.
What mediums and materials do you work with and can I request different?
All traditional media is done on 9x12" cardstock or larger, and sprayed with a clear fixative to prevent smudging. Ink is waterproof, fadeproof black india ink, or colored micron brush pens.
For coloring, I use prismacolor markers, prismacolor pencils, watercolors, watercolor pencils, and other miscellaneous things. Oh, and CG. I work in Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter, sometimes in openCanvas. You can request anything you like, but depending on availability of the material, cost, and learning curve, I may or may not agree to it.
What is the difference between a "refined" sketch and a regular sketch?
A regular sketch is just a quick sketch with a light or blue pencil. It really is quite sketchy. A refined sketch is much neater and darker, like an inked work, but with pencil instead.
What are the differences between oC, Flat, Cell, Soft, and Painting CG?
oC is done in openCanvas, generally a quick brush of color over a refined sketch or an ink. Flat CG is basically flood fill with black or colored lines. Cell CG is like Flat, but with a hard shading as seen in anime. Soft is just what it sounds like. Painting CG omits the need for inked work, and the result is something that looks like a digital painting.
What is your "normal" real media method?
For my normal real media coloring method, I use both markers and colored pencils, and sometimes watercolor. The markers are for the base color, and I shade and highlight with the colored pencils. I will use colored pencil or watercolor, or some other soft coloring method for background.
How many panels will you draw per comic page?
Up to 8 per page.
When can you start my piece, and how long will it take?
The sooner you ask for a commission, the higher up you are on my list. However, if you are, lets say, the fifth person on the list but you've decided to pay right away, you will jump up the list under the last paid person. I will not accept payment for a new piece if I already have three paid for pieces that I'm working on, so anybody past #3 will have to wait to pay.

I am a fair person though, and if you decide not to pay right away, but others keep jumping ahead of you by payment, I will send you an email when I am ready for the next piece and ask if you'd like to start right away, or wait longer.

The pieces will be worked on according to payment. If three people are paid up, I will do #1's sketch, then #2's, then #3's. Then I will ink #1, #2, etc, and finally color them in that order. I will do no more than THREE at a time unless most are just simple sketches to do, then I will do FIVE at a time.

Keep in mind that I am a busy person, I do like to keep employment outside of art so you may be waiting a month or more from start to finish of your piece if it is complex. If you do not want to wait this long, but still want a commission, then ask for something simpler.
Would you draw a doujin or comic?
I have no time for any commissions this large, unless you're paying me an obscene amount of money, so no.
Are you able to draw something or make graphics for a site layout?
Sure. Whatever you like. Email for an estimate.

Distribution and Multiples

Can I resell an item bought from you?
If you really want to. But why would you want to resell something done specifically for you? You can resell any prints or originals if you wish, that is up to you since you paid for them.
Can I make prints of your artwork to sell?
Hell no. Nobody should be making a profit off my artwork besides myself.
Can I print out your art for personal use to hang on my wall or collect?
Of course you can. As long as you aren't making a profit from my hard work, theres no harm in enjoying my art on your wall or in a binder.
Can I print copies to give to friends for free?
Erm... well... I dunno... I suppose you could, as long as you aren't making money from it. I say if they can be viewed on my website by anybody, they can be given to anybody. But buying them gives you better quality pictures. Just don't claim them as your own and I'll be fine with it.
Will you sell the copyright of the piece along with it?
A copyright to a piece would grant someone permission to post it online under their name or just claim it as theirs without crediting me. I know some artists will sell copyrights, but I absolutely can't for personal reasons. Even if you own the characters and copyrights to them, the art piece will forever remain copyrighted to me, and thus credited to me.

Alteration

Can I use one of your images to make a desktop for my computer?
I see no harm in that. However, I'm always looking for good desktops, so if you succeed in making a nice one with my art, I'd like a copy ^^ My resolution is 1600x1200.
Can I use your images in any web graphics I might want to make for a personal site?
Only if you get my permission and give me credit directly on your site.

Satisfaction

What happens if you finish a commission and I don't like it? Can I get a refund?
That shouldn't happen. You will be sent updates by email after each major stage. Pick out what you don't like from the sketch, or give it the OK. The sketch will meet your approval before I ink it. I may ask you stylistic questions about the picture while I'm inking it, and if neccesary send you a preview of the inked piece. Also, while CG coloring I'll send you previews as I go, especially if I have questions about how you think the colors look, and finally a preview of the finished piece. If you decide to make changes in things like colors, that can be done before it is printed if it's a CG piece. If it was colored by hand, I can't change it. I will not redraw a picture if you become unsatisfied after the inking stage. I also do not give out refunds.
What will I get?
If you've won an auction, it really depends on the contents of the auction. If however you contacted me on the side and worked something out, if you would like a copy of the original sketch, I can't give you the actual sketch, (unless the auction or commission or piece IS a sketch itself) since it was either the base of the real media commission, or on the computer (in which case you can get a print of it).
Would you sell or auction off prints/copies of my commissioned piece?
No. The commission is for the person who pays for it and ONLY them. What they do with it after they get it is up to them, but on my side it stays put. Not only is it illegal to sell artwork of other people's characters without their permission, but it is disrespectful. I do not disrespect my customers in that way. However, I am free to display them on my website gallery for free unless it was specified at any time before completion that it is to be a private commission. Private commissions stay offline on my end, and are up to you to decide what you do with them on yours.

Payment, Prices and Shipping

When do I pay you?
As soon as you decide what you want, and we agree on price. I take the money up front before I start work, either the full price or the cost of the sketch. Sometimes people tell an artist they don't like the sketch/ink/finished product just so they can run off with it (if payment is not taken first) or get their money back AND have the art. I've been scammed like that twice. Thank goodness they were only sketches. This was before I asked for at least payment for the sketch up front. I've learned my lesson, and this is how it will be.
Will you draw me something for free?
Everything comes for a price. Doesn't really have to be money though. If you wanna trade or buy me some nice item, I might accept. I'm warning you that it'll be difficult to bribe me with stuff unless you know what I like. So your best bet is to stick with money.
Can I buy you something in return for art instead of sending you the money?
Absolutely. But just don't go and buy any old thing, because I'm very picky. I'll let you know what items I'd like at the value of the artwork you'll be getting.
I saw a few pieces on your site that I really like. Can I buy prints of them, or the originals if possible?
Erm, well it all depends. Originals are usually a no-no, because if they're colored in colored pencil, they took me alot of work and I rarely color pencil things for myself just because it takes longer. Slip me a little extra $$ and I may redo an original colored pencil copy for you. As for black line or cg prints, possibly, under certain conditions. Can't be someone elses commission, and it can't be any gift art, or art trades. Someone else already paid for their commissions, and as for the gift art, they weren't drawn for money. I do have a section on my site for selling prints and originals. Check out what's there.
What methods of payment do you accept and how much is shipping?
I accept Paypal, Cash in the mail at your own risk, please use a very secure envelope. Bills only, obviously =P I prefer Paypal since it's immediate and I can use my paypal debit card.

Shipping prices depend on the size of the package and where it's being shipped to. Check out the price guide here.
I'd prefer my piece sent electronically to me instead. Is that possible?
Sure it is. If the image is small enough in filesize, it can be sent by email. If it's larger, it can be sent via messenger or IRC or uploaded to my webspace in a private folder. Shipping prices will be ommited. All electronically sent pieces will be large enough to print in high quality JPG or PNG format.
How will my purchase be packaged?
The art will be inserted into a bubblewrap envelope if it is 9x12". If it is a larger piece it will be either rolled into a poster tube, or pressed between two slabs of something stiff.
How will my purchase be shipped?
I send via airmail. It takes 1-2 weeks from past experiences. If you'd like it shipped faster, we'll talk about it.
Do you insure my package?
Yes, insurance cost is included in your shipping price.
